Just as nature always strives to be in perfect harmony, so too does the human body. The process of maintaining relatively stable conditions with respect to multiple organ system, intra- and extracelluar fluids, and tissue functions by internal processes that counteract any departial from the normal is called homeostatsis. Homeostasis depends on the interconnectedness of numerous systems that recive uncountable inputs. Thai massage supports this natural striving toward balance.
"Any imbalance in the sensory-motor system creates imbalance throughtout the entire body. When the myscles in one single limb become spastic or clumsy or too flaccid, this loss of control and efficent coordination within the musculoskeletal system causes an automatic compensation within all the other interconnected bodily parts. The brain brings about these compensations automaticlly and unconsciously in an attempt to rebalance the entire system!"

Due to the interrelatedness of structure and function, and on the many systems within the body from the level of microscopic cells to entire organ systems, it is not possible to fully describe the benefits that occur from each technique in Thai massage. Only the most obvious physical benefits have been noted. Numerous other muscles, nerves, ligaments, tendoms, fascia, lymph nodes, glands, and organs are also affected, as are the mind and spirit. Likewise, the following list is only a partial listing of the many ways that Thai massage can benefit a person.
It can:
Reduce stress
Reduce pain
Reduce swelling
Increase blood circulation
Increase lymphatic circulation
Facilitate the removal of toxins
Increase the joint mobility
Improve flexibility
Improve body summetry
Increase energy flow
Facilitate contact with unconscious memories
Facilitate the realise of emotional pain
